Jon “Bowzer” Bauman Endorses Kathy Manning on Behalf of Social Security Works PAC

Social Security Works PAC today announced its endorsement of Kathy Manning for U.S. House in North Carolina’s 13th District. Jon “Bowzer” Bauman of Sha Na Na fame, President of Social Security Works PAC, released the following statement:

“Kathy Manning is a proven community leader who will fight to protect and expand Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, while also working to lower the outrageous cost of prescription drugs. Manning will stand up to Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans, who are relentless in their attacks on the earned benefits our nation’s seniors have worked hard for and rely on.

In contrast, incumbent Ted Budd voted for Paul Ryan’s anti-senior budget, which would cut over $500 billion from Medicare. Budd has a ZERO lifetime score from the Alliance for Retired Americans. As I sang in the movie ‘Grease,’ ‘How Low Can You Go?'”

Kathy Manning released the following statement on receiving Social Security Works PAC’s endorsement:

“Seniors have paid into Social Security and Medicare their entire lives, yet Congressman Budd voted for a tax cut that blows a hole in the deficit and endangers those programs for the over two million North Carolinians who depend on them.

I’m running for Congress to improve access to quality, affordable healthcare, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. I’m proud to receive the endorsement of Social Security Works PAC and to fight for all older Americans.”
