Billboard Demands Rep. Ryan Mackenzie Vote Against Republican Plan to Slash $880 Billion From Medicaid
Allentown, PA – On Wednesday, February 26th, Social Security Works will launch a mobile billboard campaign in Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district, targeting Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA). A truck displaying the billboard will travel between Rep. Mackenzie’s Allentown office, the local Social Security office, and senior centers in the area.
This week, Rep. Mackenzie will vote on a Republican budget resolution that includes $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid, destroying the program as we know it. The budget resolution also opens the door to Medicare cuts. The billboard urges people to call Mackenzie’s office and demand he vote no.
The billboard will continue visiting Mackenzie’s district, with updated language, for the next two years. Social Security Works also plans to run billboards around the country urging Republicans vulnerable to losing their seats in 2026 to vote no on any cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Rep. Mackenzie won his seat by only 4,062 votes. If the Republican budget becomes law, 72,000 people in Mackenzie’s district will lose their health care.
“Nobody voted for massive cuts to Medicaid,” said Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works. “Yet that is exactly what Republicans are trying to do, to pay for a giant tax handout to Elon Musk and other billionaires. If Rep. Ryan Mackenzie votes for any cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, or Social Security, we will make sure every voter in his district knows it.”
