Three “Save Social Security” Rallies Planned for Central Florida this Weekend
This weekend, Social Security Works Executive Director Alex Lawson will headline three “Save Social Security” rallies in Central Florida.
At the rallies, Lawson will speak out against the enormous cuts to the Social Security Administration (SSA) imposed by Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). DOGE is laying off thousands of SSA workers and plans to close 47 local field offices, including one in Melbourne, FL.
According to Martin O’Malley, Social Security’s most recent Senate-confirmed commissioner, these cuts to an already underfunded and understaffed agency could result in a “system collapse” within the “next 30 to 90 days.”
The rallies will take place in:
Orlando, FL at 10am on Saturday, March 15th
Palm Coast, FL at 2pm on Saturday, March 15th
The Villages, FL at 1:15pm on Sunday, March 16th
