Billboard Slams Rep. Lauren Boebert For Sabotaging Social Security Checks
This week, Social Security Works launched a billboard campaign slamming Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) for sabotaging Social Security by holding the full faith and credit of the United States hostage.
Last month, Rep. Boebert voted for the Default on America Act. The DOA Act would cut funding for the Social Security Administration by 22 percent. This would close offices, increase wait times, and force the agency to lay off thousands of workers, making it far more difficult for seniors to access the benefits they’ve earned.
If Democrats refuse to agree to these cuts, Boebert and her fellow Republicans plan to plunge America into default. This would stop Social Security checks from arriving on time, a disaster for millions of Colorado seniors and people with disabilities who live paycheck to paycheck.
A truck displaying the billboard will travel across Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District this week. The billboard will visit Boebert’s Pueblo district office, as well as senior centers and nursing homes throughout the district, to make sure seniors know that Boebert is undermining their Social Security checks.
