ICYMI Video: Sanders and Clinton Debate How Much to Expand Social Security
National Social Security/Retirement Security Experts who are leading the campaign for Social Security expansion available for Radio, Print and TV Interviews
At last night’s debate the Democratic candidates for president agreed on the need to expand Social Security, only disagreeing about how much to increase benefits. This is a marked contrast to the debate on the Republican side over how much to cut benefits.
Sanders: “I would hope that you would come on board and say this is the simple and straightforward thing to do: We’re asking the top one and a half percent including passive income to start paying a little bit more so that the elderly and disabled vets in this country can live with security and dignity..”
Clinton: “I think it’s fair to say we don’t have a disagreement. We both believe there has to be more money going into the Social Security system…I have a slightly different approach.. first rather than expand benefits for everyone I do want to take care of low income seniors who worked at low wage jobs. I want to take care of women…”
