Sha Na Na’s “Bowzer” Coming to Kokomo On Hands Off Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid Tour
Jon “Bowzer” Bauman will be available for TV, radio, and print interviews on April 27th and 28th
Kokomo, IN- This Friday, April 28th at 2 and 6pm ET, the UAW Local 685 Education Committee will present two “Hands Off Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid” events featuring musician and activist Jon “Bowzer” Bauman, Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works and retiree activists. Bauman and Lawson will be available for interview in the Kokomo area on Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th.
In addition to performing some of his greatest hits, Bowzer will be sending a clear message to Indiana lawmakers, including Senator Todd Young (R-IN): Hands off the American people’s Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits.
No one voted for cuts to these vital benefits. Donald Trump ran for president on a clear promise to protect them. But once in office, he appointed cabinet members like Tom Price and Mick Mulvaney who’ve spent decades trying to cut and dismantle Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Speaker Paul Ryan has made it clear he plans to try to destroy Medicare by privatizing it.
Only three Republican Senators are needed to block these brutal cuts. Speakers at the event will be calling on Sen. Young to provide one of those votes. This event is part of a nationwide “Hands off Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid” tour that Bauman is in the midst of, with previous stops in Maine, Nevada, and Arizona.
