The Prescription Drug Price Relief Act is Big Pharma’s Worst Nightmare
(Washington, DC) — The following is a statement from Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works, in support of the Prescription Drug Price Relief Act, announced today by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA):
“If a company won’t lower prices or tries to restrict access, this bill will allow generic competition to lower the prices and maintain access.
In addition, regardless of the price in other countries, anybody who feels that their medicine is excessively priced will be able to petition the government to lower it. Many members of Congress say they want to lower drug prices. Now it’s time for them to match their words with action by supporting this bill.”
