Trumpcare Violates Trump’s Promise to Protect Medicare
(Washington, DC) — The following is a statement from Nancy Altman, Founding Co-Director of Social Security Works, in reaction to President Trump’s statement on Medicare during this past weekend’s Face the Nation:
“On this week’s Face the Nation, Donald Trump said he would not touch Medicare, unless it involved fraud, waste, or abuse. But he is pushing hard for Trumpcare, which raids Medicare of $117 billion of dedicated revenue. That raid would punch a hole in Medicare’s financing and be the first step in dismantling Medicare, as Paul Ryan, Tom Price, and other Trump allies have made clear they want to do.”
